Weight Loss, Exercise, and Bodybuilding Tips - Keeping Your Body-Fat Low: Part 4 of 10

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Greg Ryan Which is easier to do turn a car’s steering wheel while sitting still in the driveway or when it is speeding down the highway? Sure, the answer is simple…it’s easier to turn when you are moving or going down the road. When things are moving, there seems to be a more fluid pace. Your time in the gym and during your workouts is the same. Keeping your body fat levels low is a matter of flow and movement. Low Body Fat Technique #4: A Matter of Flow! I have won numerous bodybuilding championships and have consistently exercised every week for over twenty years. The smartest decision I have ever made that has made the biggest influence on my success in the gym is; I put a time frame each day on my workouts. At the time I did not know the impact having a sense of urgency on my workouts would have on my body fat levels. But knowing I had to complete all my exercises in a certain period of time kept me moving. The goal is to get your momentum going. Here are some suggestions on how to keep the flow in your workouts and maintain a healthy body fat level; 1. Set a reasonable time frame to your exercise session. I have a one hour and fifteen minute limit. (from start to finish) 2. Do your cardiovascular training first. 3. Pre-plan your workouts in your head prior to the workout. This cuts ten minutes out of your workout. 4. Make a contingency plan before you workout. Sometimes a crowed gym will slow you down and people are using a piece of equipment you had planed to use. 5. Do exercises that require more strength at the beginning of your workout. 6. Pre-schedule water breaks. 7. Cut the talking down to a minimum. 8. Have time limits between sets. 9. Absolutely no cell phones are allowed in the gym. 10. Bring your water bottle to the gym so you do not have to go to the water fountain and waste time. Keeping your momentum going during your workout allows your heart rate to stay at a higher level. Over a period of time this pays off in burning more fat calories. Remember keeping your body fat levels low has a lot to do with your flow of the workout more than anything. Go with the flow! LOSE WEIGHT NOW! Romance Guide for the Woman Coffee Drinker 2

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Casey Trino To review: there are several reasons to drink coffee, but none of the important ones are related to caffeine intake. Its a great deal more fun to use your coffee as a lure to attract young males to you; either for a bit of amusement or as a definite ice-breaker (if you find a worthy male, that is). Alright, instead of merely sitting there drinking that coffee and teasing–no, thats far too brazen a word–entertaining your target, what if you aim for something even grander? Perhaps you want him to spring for a refill; or, even better, to buy you a slice of pie. Youll need a tool not mentioned in our earlier instructions: One single napkin Youll carry concealed backup, of course, but only one will be displayed on table in front of you. To spill, or not to spill, that is the dilemma. If you want to grab his interest, spill the coffee. If you desire more attention–and some probable action, dribble some on a sheet of decoy paper. This could be part of the newspaper youve already read, a back-up copy of an article or paper youre proofing, or a mere magazine. The key idea is this: the volume spilled must exceed the absorbent power of just your lone napkin. Then hell be forced to help you out to wipe up, if hes at all interested. Spilling is an art, and its best practiced at home. Remember, you dont want to get your slacks or your sleeve all soaked up, and sometimes your initial instinctive reaction might be to sop it up with a sleeve–dont do it! Wiping up is also a bit of an art. Once youve spilled, dab up as much of the liquid from the table as your tiny napkin will hold, then wring it out onto the saucer. Go back and wipe again, although by now your pathetic napkin should be thoroughly soaked, and youll merely be pushing the coffee about on the table. Dont look helpless, whatever you do. Instead, look strong and determined. Open your briefcase or backpack or fanny pack or purse and set your face with your own unique look of concentration and appear as if youre scouting about for a tissue. Let your fingers rummage about inside for a bit, ramping up the intensity of your scowl as your frustration level increases. At this point your man, if chivalrous at all, will move toward you to help you. If he doesnt, and hes quite cute, you might shoot an inquiring glance at his table, but only to see if there is a napkin lying there. Once youve done that, if he still doesnt offer, you can ask–but only if hes really worth it. See, by this point, youve given him two wide-open invitations to help. If you actually have to ask, then he better be worthy. Once hes at your table, helping you wipe up, then, my dear, hes all yours. Practice makes perfect vis–vis spilling; we strongly suggest you try this at home a time or two. It can avoid a trip to the dry cleaners for a good blouse or jacket when you go live at the coffee shop. And if you really want to shine, video yourself at home. Capture your facial expressions; change them in intensity and duration, varying the brevity you allow an emotion to play about on your face. Remember, timing is key. In another article well cover a key defensive point on coffee-drinking–spilling the cup on him. But, thats a tale for another time. Pain Relief Solutions

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Furnem] John Furnem When it comes to pain relief, patients will do just about anything to make their discomfort go away. Whether it is popping the latest Tylenol capsule to undergoing expensive surgical procedures, a pain-free life is one of the most important goals for an individual suffering from an painful condition. One of the more inexpensive and sometimes most effective remedies for pain relief is the use of pain relief creams. Whenever throbbing, redness, swelling or a stinging sensation is felt in the joints, muscles or skin there are numerous pain relief creams that offer a simple topical solution. Knowing the ingredients that best treat pain relief will help you to choose a pain relief cream that will better relieve your symptoms. For example, aloe vera is a common ingredient in pain relief creams. It causes the soothing sensation and relief of many different ailments. Athletes and arthritis patients know the relief that can come from a good pain relief cream, such as IcyHot or Aspercreme. Active ingredients in these pain relief cream selections include methyl salicyclate, menthol, and camphor, which act as an external analgesic. These are some of the elements of pain relief creams that provide relief from common conditions and ailments, such as aching muscles, joints and backaches. Relieving Arthritis Pain - One of the most painful conditions to attack the body is arthritis. There are numerous pain relief creams on the market that promote the easing of arthritis. Some are rather popular like Aspercream or BenGay. You may see some of these commercials on a daily basis, while others like Zostrix use unfamiliar ingredients like capsaicin for pain relief. Bengay Arthritis Cream, which has been on the market for a long time, contains methyl salicylate and menthol, where Aspercreme uses trolamine salicylate as its active ingredient. IcyHot is quite popular among athletes, as the methyl salicylate and menthol use cold and hot approaches to dull and relax away the pain. Tiger balm is recommended for muscular aches and joint pain and uses camphor, menthol, cajuput oil and clove oil as part of its treatment. For a triple dose of pain relief, you may consider Nuprin Arthritis Clear Gel Maximum Strength, which offers the effects of menthol and capsaicin in a gel formula. Diabetic Pain Relief - Diabetics often suffer from poor circulation and painful heels that may have hardened over time. There are pain relief creams made with aloe that aim to deeply penetrate the skin, providing convenient lubrication that eventually leads to the softening and relief from dry, cracked heels. This is when pain relief creams not only ease the pain of a condition, but also facilitate the restoration of body parts. Aches and Pains - Aches and pains of the joints, muscles or bones may occur in people of all ages. You may have strained or sprained a body part and the throbbing is too much to bear. Lifting a heavy box may cause lower back pain in any number of people. Massaging a pain relief cream into the skin will provide temporary relief from whatever is ailing you. You may choose a pain relief cream, such as JointFlex, which contains camphor, Glucosamine, and Chondroitin Sulfate for the conditioning of the skin. With this option, you will not feel a burning sensation like IcyHot and dont have to bother with the medicinal smell in BenGay. JointFlex can be used for the treatment of ailments, such as muscle sprains, tendonitis, bruises, cramps and knee pain. Eczema and Psoriasis - Often with a condition that affects the skin in a way where painful rashes and blisters arise, there is a need for some sort of balance. Pain relief creams can relieve some of this discomfort, as well as provide the proper moisture that the skin needs. This is especially effective when eczema or psoriasis has affected the legs, hands, scalp and elbows. Neurotic Depression And The Patient

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Michael Russell Here, perhaps, is the great advantage possessed by the general practitioner over his hospital colleagues. He knows the patient and his family and is much better equipped to appreciate such subtleties. The onset is more likely to be abrupt, with an evident relationship to some situation that is stressful for that particular patient. The early history of the patient provides evidence of the vulnerability of his personality. In childhood, shyness, timidity and phobias may have been prominent and the stresses of daily everyday life may have proved impossible to absorb due to undue anxiety or depression. The illness is generally much more variable and responsive to environmental factors than endogenous depression. The patient can brighten up if daily life seem hopeful, but is readily tilted into gloom if circumstances become adverse. Good days and bad days are a feature of the history of depression. The quality of the depression experienced by the neurotic patient is often more akin to normal sadness or grief than to the emotional experience of the endogenously depressed patient. It tends to be aggravated by the variation of the day and to be at its worst in the evenings. Though generally mild to moderate in degree, the depression may, in occasional patients, be severe. The mood of the patient tends to reflect self-pity rather than self-blame or guilt. Initial insomnia is the common form of sleep disturbance. Anxiety is often prominent and is associated with poor concentration and fatigue. Suicidal ideas and both attempted and successful suicide are common and certainly, the belief that the depression is ‘only’ neurotic should not engender any false optimism. Throughout the world the rate of depression related suicides, or problems directly related as a result of depression is on the increase as our daily lives become more and more fast paced. A relationship between a large number of social factors and suicide has been made evident as the result of epidemiological studies. Social class, the nature of employment, geography, race and the degree of social disorganisation exert subtle influences on the individual decision to kill oneself; but through the determinants of suicide are always multiple and complex, in the majority of patients mental illness is of the utmost importance. Although depression is not the only psychiatric disorder associated with suicide, it is unquestionably the most important. Important epidemiological differences between those who commit and those who attempt suicide have been demonstrated. Nevertheless, the similarities are more important than the differences. Both those attempting and those succeeding in suicide the same psychiatric disorders play their interacting parts. A patient showing signs of severe depression may have already entertained the idea of suicide. There need be no fear that one will put ideas into the patient’s head - the ideas are there already. Naturally, there is no need to be blunt about it. The question should be put gently and sympathetically. Some such query as, “Do you sometimes feel life is not worth living?” is a useful beginning and it is seldom necessary to be more pointed. The recognition of the protean presentations of depression is the most important way we can help to prevent suicide; and it is well to recognize that certain groups of individuals such as the elderly, those living on their own and those recently bereaved are especially at risk. Coin, Paper Money, Or Stamp?

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Gary Lacey What should you collect as a hobby; coins, paper money, or stamps? Which will be the best investment? I find it strange that some people who collect coins, paper money, or stamps, always want some kind of return on their investment. These are the same people who think nothing of buying a new car and then selling it a few years later for a fraction of what they paid for it. A new car loses value as soon as you drive it on the road! As for investing in paper money, if someone is buying notes and thinking how much will they be able to get when they sell them again, this person has the wrong hobby. Enjoy collecting for the pleasure and for the fun of it. Coins and stamps are tangible reminders of years gone by. Yet, while coin collecting is flourishing as a hobby, stamp collecting is decreasing in popularity. Many families who inherit stamp collections are more interested in getting the collection appraised than continuing the collection. You cant collect something if you dont know what it is. Stamp collecting dates back to 1840, when the first stamp was issued in England. One of the earliest indications of stamp collecting is an advertisement from an English newspaper in which a young woman sought used stamps as a way to wallpaper her room. Soon, post offices discovered stamp collectors as a good source of revenue. From there, stamp collecting began. There are no rules about stamp collecting. Some people collect stamps from a certain country while others focus on a particular theme, such as flowers, ships or buildings. Unfortunately, stamp collecting has simply lost its appeal to younger people. Coin collecting, on the other hand, is at its peak in popularity. Rare or modern coins offer history that collectors can hold in their hand, and every period during the past 2,500 years is reflected in coinage. Stamps disappear and become part of the ground. A coin can be dug up and, while new varieties of stamps are not really being discovered, new types of coins from all over the world are still being found. How many stamps or bank notes do you think youll find while out exploring with a metal detector? Whilst improperly stored coins can degrade and lessen in value, paper money can be damaged by handling, sunlight, or water. All are subject to flood, fire, or other natural catastrophes. A stock certificate with half of it burned away is just as good as a mint one in terms of its value on the exchange. In fact, as long as ownership can be proven, it often doesn’t even matter if the physical certificate exists. The same cant be said for paper money. You can insure against these problems, and go to great lengths to assure proper storage conditions, but all of this costs money and adds to the cost of the investment, often for many years before there is going to be any return at all. Today, coin collecting is one of the worlds most popular hobbies. Amateur collectors enjoy coins for their beauty and rarity. Added to this is the excitement of searching for and finding specific coins and the challenge of identifying new ones. Why is coin collecting thriving and stamp collecting dying? Coins are still being used and are still fascinating. It is an investment as well as a hobby. Coins continue to go up in value while many stamps are at the peak value they will ever receive. Furthermore, many are going down in value. Enjoy your hobby, and consider whatever you invest in it to be pleasure money, the same way you would count money you spent going to ball games, or dining out, or buying new clothes. Then, whatever you or your family get out of your collection is pure profit, whether it is more or less than what you originally paid. After all, if you spend $20 a week going to the movies, you don’t expect to get anything back for your $1,000 a year collection of ticket stubs, do you? I believe there is room in both the collecting of coins and paper money for both collectors and investors. The important thing to remember in investing in coins or banknotes is rarity and desirability. Marketing Tips For Small Businesses

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By Sally Jones Listed below are some ideas or tips for marketing your small businesses. Advertising is expensive and these ideas are an inexpensive way to get your name out there. Although theses tips are for tea businesses, they can be adapted for most types of small business. 1. Signup sheet to ask customers their birthday month to send out birthday postcards. You can offer 1 oz. of their favorite tea or other incentive if they come in with their birthday postcard. 2. Send out frequent emails to those who have signed up. Be sure to update and change each email so they won’t think you are just repeating the one you sent earlier. 3. Have an area on your website that allows them to sign up for your emails or an online newsletter. Be sure to update your website frequently to keep it relevant–especially removing old information. 4. Offer a free pot of tea for bringing in a new friend. 5. Have a coupon available on your website that would only be for your website customers. 6. Offer a free pot of tea for your first-time visitors. 7. Have a “pot of tea” card where the 10th or 12th pot of tea is free. 8. If you are sending out postcards, have a featured item or a featured tea listed on it. You can also have a featured item or featured tea listed on your website. 9. Piggyback off events that are taking place locally in your area. For instance, hot air balloon races could be a balloon tea or bubble tea. 10. Piggback off other retailers in your area. have your fliers in antique shops, salons, spas, or alternative health centers or health food stores. You have to be willing to have their fliers in your business in return. 11. Try involving them in one of your special events such as a fashion show from a boutique at one of your special teas. Even a men’s fashion show from Men’s Warehouse or Penny’s with a Bring a Father to Tea event. 12. Write thank you notes to any and all that have helped your business. Thank you notes to people who advertise for you or have special events at your establishment. 13. Cross promote with non-industry neighbors to bring customers to your neighborhood. Green Tea, Weight Loss & Enviga

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Mike Linder By releasing the new Green Tea based product Enviga, my opinion is that Coca Cola and Nestle are liable to more harm than good in the cause of promoting Green Tea. They appear to be telling us all that by drinking a couple of cans a day (at $1.30 -$1.50 a time) we will benefit from Green Teas weight loss properties and the outcome will be slimmer, healthier person on the other side. The makers claim their drink has negative calories and this counterbalances the other calories you put in your body with your natural food intake. Well, the Centre for Science in the Public Interest is reported to have filed a false advertising suit against the two companies saying their claims are wrong. Am I personally surprised? NO! None of these companies realise that Green Tea is not now, and never has been, a quick fix for any of lifes ailments. Drinking Green Tea is a way of life. Its properties are indisputable. Its regeneration powers have been proven over thousands of years and if you drink regularly and over a consistently long period then many things which ail you will at least be helped or maybe prevented all together. Already newspapers, in the hunt for headlines, are coming out against Green tea. I recently read on headline which said Want to lose weight? Green Tea wont do it This headline was meant as a specific strike against the product Enviga but all people will remember in a couple of months is the bad publicity and they will associate it with all Green Tea products. The hijacking of Green Tea by major corporations as a quick fix was predictable considering the amount of good publicity Green Tea has had in the last few years, but my sincere hope is that in the chase for their profits they do not soil the good name of Green Tea, so that many future potential users do not come on board and start drinking this wonderful brew. It will be down to current users of Green Tea to keep using and promoting the benefits of Green Tea by word of mouth and keep the forward momentum of the use of Green Tea going strong. Jury Duty - Dealing with the Often Unfair Burden of Civic Responsibility

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

By Shirley Ann Parker I can only speak of California when referencing contemporary jury duty, though I’ve been called to serve in another state in the past, with equally irritating circumstances to deal with. Until the US Court system treats jurors with the respect they deserve, a jury of one’s peers will never meet its intended ideal. By that standard, anyway, a drug dealer would merit being tried by a jury of other druggies! Frankly, I think the existing jury system itself would be a major deterrent to crime. Who would want to be tried by a jury of individuals, most of whom didn’t want to be there in the first place? Why not? Consider this: their employers don’t pay them during their attendance to civic duty; their families are suffering in their absence; the jurors themselves can’t wait to escape the dancing attorney acts. We would be far better served by professional jurors who understand the law and who have also received formal training in compassion from the school of hard knocks. At least a mixed jury of professionals and greenies would ensure real justice from the system. Added to California’s other mind-boggling woes, which are still taking center stage of late, is a chronic shortage of qualified jurors, particularly in Los Angeles County. No doubt that’s aggravated by a higher crime rate in our overcrowded population, which in itself creates an even more clogged docket. Though the state has completed the phase-in of One Day-One Trial, the general public still doesn’t seem to understand that if they are selected to serve on a jury, One Trial supersedes One Day. A prospective juror is on call for the entire week stipulated in the Jury Summons, reports on the day he or she is ordered to report, and serves for the length of the assigned trial. The only exception is being formally dismissed by the presiding judge on the day the juror is called, or possibly later in an emergency. There is no state payment at all for the first day of jury service. If you are assigned to a trial, from the second day onwards, California now pays the grand sum of $15 a day plus one-way mileage from home to the courthouse, assuming you live in the center of the town from which they’re measuring. Otherwise, you come up a few miles short. This is the first increase in 45 years. It about covers the cost of gas and your lunch, unless you backpack that in and risk putting it in the refrigerators in the jury assembly room. Some courthouses have no lunch facilities; others provide only limited free parking, if any at all. And, you creative folks, leave the knitting and crocheting and embroidery at home. Nothing that could be used as a weapon is allowed inside the building, let alone in the courtroom. Be aware that the TVs in the jury room might not work if the courthouse is being remodeled. No TV antenna and no cable service. Bring your headphones and your own CDs or tapes, or a book that will hold your interest. (Outside of L.A. County, some jury rooms actually have computers with Internet access.) In case you haven’t been called to jury duty lately, the system doesn’t give a hoot about financial hardship nowadays, not even if you’re self-employed, or your employer won’t pay you to serve. Neither does it care that you were scheduled to report to a paid training course, so you could finally get your first job since September 11, 2001. As we were recently instructed, “a five-day trial isn’t considered a hardship to anyone”. Well, excuse me for disagreeing! As far as health problems are concerned, if you’re under the age of 70 and you’re breathing, you can serve. You’ll have to hope your doctor’s signature will excuse you, but often, it does not. Believe me, no courtroom wants a juror with multiple health problems, but they do their best to make you look like a liar during the Inquiry process. As to the type of juror that is sought, the preference seems to be for a prospective juror who is not an independent thinker. Of course, it’s normal to want a panel that is sympathetic, but a balanced jury is more just, when such can be seated. Defense attorneys, in particular, like a juror who can be manipulated into believing their spin on events. That goes without saying. Every client wants an attorney who is on their side, else why bother with legal representation? Any fool can represent herself in a courtroom, if she so desires.* Even so, anyone who appears to be an uneducated, quiet little housewife who can be easily swayed, is likely to be selected for a jury. Woe to the attorneys who make that mistake, however! Little old ladies in particular can be “dangerously” opinionated. It isn’t just good things that come in small packages. The best advice that can be given is: Yes, do your civic duty if at all possible. Heaven knows we need conscientious, caring jurors. Read your instructions. Maintain decorum. Dress conservatively. Do not show up late, at least not without telephoning first to explain your crisis. Cooperate with the court at all times. NEVER mouth off at or otherwise insult the judge. He or she reigns supreme in that courtroom. Answer questions honestly. Don’t let attorneys make you look like an idiot. *[There is always the exception, of course. Sometimes, such short notice is deliberately given, so that the individual has to show up alone. There isn't time to find and consult with an attorney. I'm talking less than 48 hours! And believe me, it happens, often in challenged probate cases, as one example.] 2003 and 2006 Shirley Ann Parker. Reprinted from The Corner Desk, and updated in 2006. Finding a Payday Loan

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Sissons]Peter Sissons When deciding on loans, make sure to do plenty of research. It is important to compare all the possible offers you have to choose from. Many times a payday cash advance from a loan agency is often one of the best choices as far as getting a low APR and finance charges. One aspect of payday loans that makes them appeal to almost anyone is that even if you have bad credit or no credit almost all companies that offer payday loans will still offer you a payday loan no fax, meaning they will give you the loan without conducting a credit check. This makes payday loans appealing because almost every other type of loan involved a credit check to make sure the person is free of delinquent accounts in the past. Payday loans can be acquired by anyone, even those with a bad credit history. However, keep in mind that payday loans are meant to be paid back within a short period of time. The idea of a payday cash advance is that you receive a payday advance prior to receiving your pay check. Once you have received your next pay check you are expected to pay back your loan. The amount of money you can receive as a payday cash advance depends on how much money you make. If you have a high income you have a greater chance of being allotted a higher payday loan. The amount of your payday loan is completely dependent on your income because that is what will determine whether or not you will be able to pay back your loan and in what amount of time. Since payday loans are meant to be paid back within a short amount of time, it is important to companies that they do not lend an employee more money than the person will be able to pay by their next payday. To obtain a payday loan in most cases, all you have to do is complete an application form. The form will ask for basic information about you as well as information about your job and income since the loan amount will be based upon that information. Some people choose to ask for a certain amount of money when applying for their loan but others allow the loan company to decide how much money will be offered to you. So if you are in need of fast cash before your next payday, look no further than a payday cash advance. Not only will you be able to pay your bills and take care of expenses quicker, you will be able to do so with low interest rates and a convenient payback time that keeps you debt free. Online Banks

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By Ken Marlborough Online banking refers to the customer using secure internet access, with 128-bit encryption, to perform banking tasks related to his account. The customer is provided with a unique customer ID and password so as to access his account online. The password is changed at regular intervals. Online Banking offers conveniences that are beneficial for business use and personal use. Some of the benefits of online banking include 24 hour a day access, a monthly cost savings of roughly $6,, and security that matches the security of banking in person. Despite the convenience, cost savings and high security of online banking, recent studies have shown that less than 25% of Americans are taking advantage of their bank’s online banking options. In addition to these benefits, many banks are trying to squeeze their clients into online banking in an effort to reduce their administrative costs. Yet despite all of these benefits and efforts, in the more than six years since its inception, online banking has not yet become the standard practice. Many busy professionals are often too busy during normal banking hours to attend to their finances, but online banking takes away this concern by offering 24 hour access to all of the banking options that the local bank branch can handle, as well as a few additional perks such as instant statements for specific date ranges. No longer do private citizens or businesses have to request information in person and then wait several weeks for the information to be processed and mailed out. The conveniences of online banking cannot be matched for business or personal use. Most of the major banks now offer online banking.
